In Southeast Texas, we remember Pearl Harbor
Most of our Pearl Harbor surviviors are gone. The youngest would be 95-96.
We do have many World War II veterans who enlisted or were drafted in the days following Pearl Harbor.
Are you looking for ways to honor them?
Here are some ideas from the Southeast Texas Senior Resource Guide:
Take a Golden Triangle veteran to lunch – everyone enjoys the chance to get out and to talk over a meal. You just might enjoy it more than they do!
Drop a “Thank-you for your service card” by a local nursing home. Everyone appreciates receiving a hand written card or letter – and seniors appreciate it more than ever. Nursing home staff will usually help you personally deliver the card to a veteran or will hand deliver it for you.
